The Easter Bunny is Plotting World Domination

Watch Out for the Easter Bunny!

Recently the Easter Bunny visited my home.  It was a bit out of season, but he was welcomed as a guest. A cute pink bunny seems fairly friendly and innocuous, and besides, he has always brought the kids some pretty neat stuff.  Little did I know what was going on in that fuzzy little head.

Some time after the Easter Bunny arrived, I stumbled upon something that turned my world upside down. Laid out in vivid color were plans to take over the world!  I was shocked!  Surely someone so sweet and kind could not have created such a thing. Yet here it was, a map of the world with everything planned out in detail.

Now, I knew no one would believe me - it was just unimaginable - but I shared the information with some trusted friends and family members.  They laughed it off as a cute little game.  But I knew better.  There had been a certain look in his eyes that bespoke a cunning mind.

I knew I had to tell the world…

What?  You Don’t Believe Me?

Okay, so everything I just told you, including the Easter Bunny, was the creation of three kids with sidewalk chalk and a dad with an overactive imagination.

Not to brag, but my kids did some pretty great drawings.  My oldest, who loves to play strategy games even laid out a map of the world.  They didn’t even connect the bunny to the other drawings; they were just having fun making pictures in the driveway.

No rabbits planning world domination, except in my own little mind.

But it could happen, couldn’t it?

What if the Easter Bunny Did Take Over the World?

So what if the Easter Bunny did have plans for the world? Not a takeover through violence, coercion or intrigue, but through spreading kindness, compassion, tolerance, positivity and hope.  What would the world be like?

I think we would find it to be a much better world to live in. If so, do we really need to have furry little animal come along to make it happen?  Or is there something we can do?

What if each of us started spreading more tolerance, respect and hope?  What if each of us made our own plans to make this world an even more amazing place to live in?  We could be the Bunny Brigade! Okay, probably not, but we’d make a pretty awesome army for good.

So I kind of hope the Easter Bunny does plan to take over the world. Maybe he’ll let me help.
